It Brings you to the Beginning of the Story.

The Unusual Options Activity Scanner leads you to a pool of ideas that are happening right now.

The New Options Chain helps you analyze those ideas and filter them down to a few. The Open Interest Tool starts adding context to the story you're trying to put together.

More specifically, it shows you the outstanding trades that have already been made and highlights the strikes that have been in focus.

These strike prices combined with technical analysis can uncover great opportunity.

OI Options Tool Lander

A.  Enter your Stock Ticker (“AAPL”) here and Press GO.  The Stock Price and daily change will appear to the right along with a price refresh button. If available, the Open Interest for that stock will populate with the nearest expiration on the left.

B.  This toggle determines whether you want Call data or Put data.

C.  You can enter a range to focus on from lowest strike to highest strike. Strike prices outside of that range will be shaded.

D.  Choose the top percentile cells within the unshaded range that you wish to highlight: The Top 1%, Top 5%, or Top 10%. This might indicate areas of opportunity and pockets of risk.

E.  You can click to highlight any combination of expirations and then press the green Chart button to visually graph both Calls and Puts on a Histogram chart. (See Below)

After you highlight the expiries and click the "Chart" button (E)...

A.  The white triangles indicate the current Stock Price.

B.  These are the Expirations chosen on the main scanner. You can “X” any of the expirations to eliminate their contribution to the graph.

C.  These represent Open Interest contracts. The highest Contract indication will match the highest number of Total Calls or Total Puts on any one strike. For example, the $135 Calls had the highest Total Open Interest of 408.5k. So, both sides scale to that level to provide symmetry and make comparing easier.
